2017 National Jamboree: Living Scouting’s Adventure - July 19-28, 2017
What is Jamboree? 2017 marks the second National Jamboree to be held at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia. Along with more than 30,000 other Scouts from all over the country, Scouts from Bucktail Council will be able to experience every element of adventure in THE PREMIER event of Scouting. Jonathan on The Summit Blog states, “To Live Scouting’s Adventure is to be fully invested in the experience, the thrill, and the purpose Scouting offers, not only to ourselves, but also to our communities and to the world.”
Hey, Venturers and Scouts 16 and older! Did you know that Bucktail Council has a Venture Crew in addition to Troop for the 2017 Jamboree? While Youth Scout participants must be between the ages of 12 and 17, Venturing Youth participants are 14 to 20; so, even if you’ll turn 18 before July 19, 2017, there is still an opportunity for you to participate in Jamboree as a Youth!
The Bucktail Council contingency is filling up fast, so make sure to reserve your spot by going to the National Jamboree Registration Site now! The Bucktail Council 2017 Jamboree Planning Committee has set the Participant Fee for this event at $1450. Down-payments of at least $200 per person are due upon registration approval with the full $1450 due by April 15, 2017. Payment Plans will be established for each member of the contingency as participants register.
The next Jamboree Contingent meeting will be held January 15, 2017 at Camp Mountain Run at 2:00 pm.
