Camp Mountain Run
Camp Mountain Run is a beautiful 380+ acre camp located in Penfield, PA. It is just minutes from I-80 and Rt. 219. The camp offers exciting summer programs and a great facility for weekend camping, corporate retreats, church youth group outings, and weddings.
Where but at camp can youth experience all that the great outdoors offers! Sleeping under the stars in a tent, telling stories and singing songs next to the crackling of a campfire, hiking in the woods and seeing all that nature has to offer with his fellow scouts and friends, canoeing and fishing in the calm waters of a beautiful lake, building their skills skills at the archery and rifle ranges, experiencing the exciting COPE Course, and enjoy all the fun activities that the camp will offer. Camp Mountain Run summer camp offers this and much, much more. When a scout leaves camp he will leave with a smile on his face, memories and friends that will last a lifetime.
At summer camp, youth come closer to the natural world and to one another. They explore trails and sharpen skills together. Here, in the outdoors they share triumphs and troubles, and learn important values as a group – values like patience and respect for others’ point of view, and doing their fair share and helping others in need – life skills that are part of the personal growth we want for every scout.
Come and join us this summer for our new exciting summer program at Camp Mountain Run on our nearly 390 spacious acres nestled in the rural Allegheny Mountains, with a lake and stream that provides an exciting Scouting experience of a lifetime!
Camp Mountain Run offers a dedicated staff of qualified people to help make your camp experience a success.
Camp Mountain Run has been Nationally accredited as a summer camp through 2023!
The Effects of COVID-19 on this Summer’s Schedule
We hope this email finds you safe and healthy. Health and Safety is the number one concern that we have for both your family and your Scouting family. The Bucktail Council has been monitoring the COVID-19 situation for weeks. We have since assembled a Summer Camp Task Force to provide guidance during these unprecedented times. This task force, consisting of Camping Committee Volunteers, Unit Leaders, Executive Board & Committee Members, Camp Management, and Professional Scouters, is committed to making this year’s summer camp program safe for you and your Scouts.
At this time, the Task Force has made the following recommendations (please note that because this is a very fluid situation and this task force will be meeting weekly, we will continue to communicate with you regularly):
*Cub Scout Day Camps & Twilight Camps Scheduled for June 22nd and 23rd are being postponed and will instead take place July 21st and 22nd. Locations to be determined.
*Cub Scout Resident Camp originally scheduled for June 24th- 27th is being postponed and will instead take place July 23rd- 26th. An early check in option for the evening of July 22nd will be available for no additional cost.
*Scouts, BSA Week 4 is being canceled to accommodate a later start to our season.
*The Early Bird deadline for all camp sessions is being moved until June 1, 2020.
*The reimbursement policies are being loosened, and the Camping Committee is understanding of financial impacts from the COVID- 19 Pandemic.
The Task Force would like to remind everyone that the following programs will see no changes at this time and will occur as scheduled:
*Scouts, BSA Week 1, Week 2, & Week 3
*STEM Day Camp
*Cub Scout Day Camp Scheduled for July 29th & 30th
*Cub Scout Twilight Camp Scheduled for July 31 & August 1st
We would like to thank all of our Scouting Families for their continued support of Scouting. Camp Mountain Run & the Bucktail Council are dedicated to providing an excellent program to Scouters! Should you have any questions regarding these changes please do not hesitate to contact Billy Cebulskie, Camp Director or the Bucktail Council Service Center. The entire Task Force hope you all stay healthy and are looking forward to a great summer!
